LARISA WITH COMP

My name is Larisa Sayre. I am originally from the former USSR; I was born in Kyrgyzstan and moved to the USA in December 1998. I have lived in Colorado since then.

My favorite activities are helping others to become healthy and happy.

Practicing yoga and meditation, hiking, cooking healthy meals, traveling, reading, spending time in Nature, sharing love, laughter, delicious meals, and fun activities with my family and friends.

I am a founder and owner of COACHLARISA LLC, Life & Mindset Coaching.

Since 2004, I have been helping people to improve their physical and mental health, become confident and happy, and develop healthy relationships at home and work.

I grew up on a small farm with many different kinds of animals, a big vegetable garden, lots of fruit trees and berries, and never-ending hard farm work.

We ate all the organic food we grew in our garden, and my mom used herbs as a medical remedy for every health symptom.

Things changed when I came to the USA and started “fitting into” the culture.

The food was different, and the portions were huge compared to what I used to eat.

In a matter of months, I noticed that my weight started fluctuating, and I started experiencing allergy symptoms. For the first time in my life, I start looking for different diets and using some medications to relieve my allergy symptoms.

I became more self-conscious about my body and began experiencing emotional stress and anxiety.

Moving forward to my second pregnancy in 2002, due to some unresolved emotional traumas and a stressful lifestyle at that time, I developed a minor pregnancy complication and gained more weight than I expected.

After the birth of my second son, I experienced more emotional stress, which led me to body shame and poor body-image mode, which brewed guilt, depression, and self-abusive behavior, such as rigid dieting and overtraining. This behavior led to multiple injuries and physical and emotional pain.

However, this also became a catalyst for self-awareness, personal growth, and personal development, which helped me to learn more about myself, my body, my strength, and my weakness and get myself in great physical shape.

My passion for health and fitness was ignited, and I became a certified personal trainer and nutritional counselor and trained myself for my first Figure competition.

I am also a “recovering” Type A personality, a workaholic, with high self-expectations, self-judgment, and go, go, go, never stop kind of woman.

I “whipped” myself into shape, relying on my willpower, diet, and overtraining, which was a constant battle between mind and body. I tried every diet available, all kinds of cleansing, detoxing, and fasting.

With these approaches, my body looked good, but it was aching with pain, and my emotional state was far from being healthy and happy. I was physically and mentally exhausted!

I ended up with two building discs on my cervical spine, bursitis in my hips,  and excruciating pain all over my body.

The doctor told me that I needed to do surgery or a cortisone shot for the rest of my life or learn how to live with chronic pain.

I didn’t take the doctor’s advice; I chose a different option.

I committed myself to learning and applying different techniques and practices from various mental, physical, and spiritual healing modalities, which completely transformed not just my body, but my entire life and reshaped me from the inside and out!

Today, I am educating others about healthy lifestyle modifications, mental health practices, spirituality, and the power of whole-food-based nutrition, exercise, sleep, and a positive mindset.

Life is a never-ending school, and all of us are forever students. We are learning the lessons along the way that makes us the individual that we are today.

I used to be overweight, overwhelmed, and stressed out, and I tried many different approaches to keep my body healthy and my mind happy. Some of those approaches caused more damage to my body and mind,  but they taught me suitable lessons about what NOT to do anymore. All life lessons are valuable as long as we learn from them!

More than a decade ago, I was impatient and inflexible. I was living fast pace life, going hundreds of miles per hour, until I hit the wall physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Heavy workouts in the gym, sleepless nights, rigid diets, and high emotional stress led to physical and mental exhaustion, frustration, and injuries.

The best way out of this hamster wheel is to learn how to slow down, relax, and listen to the body’s signals. Eat real food, exercise, get adequate sleep, and develop resilience to stress. When we provide the body with what it needs, it heals itself naturally. It has a divine blueprint to do so.

MEET MY FAMILY

By applying my knowledge, I not just improved my physical and mental health, but I also got through a divorce and prepared myself for a new healthy, and fulfilling relationship.

Several years after my divorce I  met my husband, and together we built an amazing family of seven people with very different personalities.

Today, I am happily married to my husband, Mark and we have a blended family with five children.

I am blessed to be a mother to Alex and Jason, and a stepmother to Ashley, Davis, and Colin.

We love to spend time together, sharing delicious meals, playing games, and having a great time!
